Looking for some lockdown brew inspiration? We asked some members of our team about their brewing habits during lockdown, and what Atomic Coffee blend they are keeping on hand. They spend their days thinking, drinking and working with coffee, so you can be pretty sure they’ll have some stellar suggestions.

How do you brew your coffee at home? Using the classic plunger, super simple and easy to use!
When not in lockdown, does your coffee routine differ? When not in lockdown, I would be alternating between a long black and a piccolo. Surprisingly, drinking a lot less coffee at home. I prefer it when someone else makes it for me.
Current fav at the moment? Can’t go wrong with Brazil Coopfam. It's super smooth with notes of chocolate and pear.

How do you brew your coffee at home? Flat white every time with the assistance of my cat Moose
When not in lockdown, does your coffee routine differ e.g. drinking more or less? Drinking way less in lockdown but making more coffees for the bubble than I normally would. It feels like a full-blown café here.
Your current favourite Atomic Coffee at the moment? My go-to is always Veloce. We’re cranking through it, I’ve got several deliveries turning up a week.

How do you brew your coffee at home? A clever dripper (we don’t stock them….yet). But when doing a big batch for everyone I like using a plunger.
When not in lockdown, does your coffee routine differ? I’d be drinking more. Definitely drinking less coffee in lockdown…
Current Atomic fav at the moment? Love the Sidama as I usually drink espresso so when I have a soft brew I like to have good strength along with some fruitier flavour characteristics.

How do you brew your coffee at home? Either Chemex when brewing for a crowd (I live with 6 other people so it’s a good option when we do a shared breakfast on the weekend) or Aeropress if it’s just for me. I have two espresso machines at home though. A lever La Pavoni Europiccola Lusso which sits on the kitchen bench and is used daily for convenience, and a Nuova Simonelli Musica which I pull out of our studio on special occasions.
When not in lockdown, does your coffee routine differ? When not in lockdown, my intake is way higher, as I do a lot of quality control throughout the day. Currently, I only have one or two a day, usually one in the morning and a pick me up in the afternoon.
Atomic favourite right now? I’ve been thrashing our current special blend, Fruit Punch. I’ve had it through espresso, which it is made for, but also through Aeropress and Chemex. It’s a very fruity and aromatic blend that works on a multitude of devices. Espresso gives you a great sparkling mouthfeel, with delicious hints of grapefruit but a balanced bitterness, and a super sweet, tropical finish. With soft brew, you lose a bit of the bitterness but it really tends to intensify the sweetness.
That’s what our people say. How do you brew at home (or in the office) when your Atomic coffee subscription arrives? Get in touch to tell us what you do when your stash is stocked up!
