Ethiopia Guji

Recommended Use: Fillter, plunger, pour over
Flavour: Passionfruit, cocoa and bergamot
Acidity: Medium
Body: Medium
Finish: Cocoa

Typically coffees from the Guji zone display fruity, spiced or black tea-like flavours. This washed coffee allows for its complex acidity to shine through with passionfruit and bergamot flavours then a lingering cocoa finish. Our newest offering sourced from the Oromia region of Ethiopia is best served as a soft brew for a cleaner cup. If you’re feeling adventurous try this coffee through an Aeropress or V60 to highlight its juiciness.

Guji sits on edge of the Oromia region which borders Yirgacheffe in the Southern Nations, Nationalities and Peoples Region. Like our Harrar and Yirgacheffe, we source our Guji from the Oromia Coffee Farmers Cooperative Union (OCFCU). OCFCU is the largest Fairtrade Certified coffee union in Ethiopia. It was founded in 1999 when 23,691 members from 35 small Ethiopian cooperatives came together to export their coffee directly to the specialty market. Today that number has passed 200,000.
