Al Keating, a name synonymous with the New Zealand specialty coffee scene. Al began his coffee journey as a barista while studying a design degree at Unitech. He began his own design business soon after university but found the solo work life was not for him.

In the year 2000, Al took a new career pathway and found himself at Atomic, working downstairs in dispatch. He later moved into training; traveling the length of the New Zealand in his Toyota Corolla Hatchback. Racking up 45,000kms a year, Al visited cafes from Gore all the way up to Kaitaia.

Al learnt a lot over his time navigating New Zealand. Walking into cafes as a stranger he would leave as a friend- Al learnt to relate to anyone, selling them not just on the company and the product, but himself too. Fast forward 13 years since his time with Atomic and Al is now a big part of Supreme Coffee. A super genuine man, with an uber relaxed vibe and a great taste in coffee.
